Summer Hols rule

Ok so it's first day back at my day job today and although I enjoy my job....I like summer holidays more...my bottom lip is out and I'm trying not to sulk and stamp my feet and shout....I want to be back on holiday!!  We've had a lovely time in Brittany, France.

Finished Florals

It may be a bit grey and damp outside today, but inside the flowers are blooming.  I've just finished some blue flowers to fulfil and order.  They are all the same length at the moment so would need trimming to different lengths to look better together in a vase.

Sunday 5 August 2012

It's not been the most productive day...

It's been a day of torrential downpours and glorious sunshine and oh my have those rain showers been heavy...but the good thing these short sharp showers have given us the excuse to stay inside and watch the Olympics without feeling we should be doing something else....in fact life is pretty much on hold at the moment...we're glued to the BBC.
Yesterday was amazing...6 brilliant gold medals for Team GB; Jess Ennis, Greg Rutherford, Mo Farah, Women's Pursuit Team (Dani King, Laura Trott and Jo Rowsell), Men's Fours (Alex Gregory, Pete Reed, Tom James and Andrew Triggs Hodge), Women's Lightweight Double Sculls (Katherine Copeland and Sophie Hosking)...certainly a Super Saturday!
Today has been a pretty good Sunday as well with Ben Ainsle and Andy Murray winning Golds and there being several silver and bronze medals for Team GB to boot, so you can see why productivity at chez moi has taken a hit!
I've been working on some fabric flower orders...amongst shouting encouragement at the TV.

I have completed all the cutting and machine sewing...oh yes and lots of tea drinking...5 flowers are attached to sticks ready to be shaped into floral beauties tomorrow.  Do you like my  mug?  A wedding anniversary purchase for Mr A and I a couple of years ago.

The London Olympic Games 2012

An amazing day at the London 2012 Olympics on Wednesday...so exciting, can't quite believe we were there...but here's the proof...
Team Monis arriving at the Olympic Park.
Can you guess who we're supporting?  Come on Team GB!!  The Olympic Park had a lovely relaxed and joyous atmosphere and the native wild flowers were simply stunning.

In the Olympic Basketball Arena
First we saw Australia beat Brazil and then Russia take on Team GB.  The crowd support was deafening for Team GB (mainly Miss M and Miss E with their Olympic Boom Sticks!!)  and although they fought back to come within 3 points of Russia in the closing minutes, Russia managed to stay ahead and win the game.

Enjoying the Olympic Park
After the basketball we met up again with Grandma and Grandad who had been to see the hockey and then caught up with the news on the large screens of Team GB's first gold medals for Helen Glover and Heather Stanning and then Bradley Wiggins who Miss E claims "Bagley Diggins is my best friend in the whole world"

Thank you London 2012...a day to remember
