Liberty Fabric Flower Cushion

I have had such fun playing with these completely and utterly gorgeous Liberty fabrics which seems to clash and compliment all in one go!  I chose to create very simple flower shape templates and let the fabric do the talking.  The vase is Liberty Betsy Tana Lawn fabric from from 1933 and the flowers are a lovely mixed combination of Tatum, Capel, Thorpe and a touch more Betsy.

Liberty Fabric Birdie Cushion

Tweet tweet!  I made this handsome feathered fellow using Liberty Betsy J Tana Lawn fabric which was designed for Liberty in 1933.  I just love the fresh turquoisey greens. His birdie wing is cut from Liberty Thorpe Tana Lawn fabric which although it has a 1930s feel, it was actually designed in 1968.

Liberty Fabric Cuppa Cushion

A cup of tea cushion perfect for resting on whilst enjoying a steaming mug of Earl Grey,,,happy days!

I first created this tea cup template for Sarah's cup of tea rug and have been itching to use it again.  Here I've complimented the bright and bold Liberty Betsy Tana Lawn fabric from 1933 with the softer 1978 pink Liberty Capel.

Just off to pop the kettle on....cuppa anyone?

Liberty Fabric Love Cushion

Love Liberty Tana Lawn fabric....share the love!

On this cushion design I've created a little Liberty Betsy sandwich...Betsy in greens, Thorpe, Tatum and finishing with Betsy in blues.

Share the love x

2014 Catch Up - Baking

One thing for sure is that we're never short of baked goods in our house.....

Zebra cake, sun-dried tomato and mature cheddar cheese bread, baked dough nuts, victoria sandwich cake and Miss E's marshmallow bread and choc chip bread...

...dirt cakes, strawberry tea loaf, bread rolls and another victoria sandwich cake...

...and most importantly a bowl cleaner outter!!

2014 Catch Up - Making

We've made loads of things too but here are just a few...

A toe eating paper shark

Decorated tea plates for Grandad

And I loved my very own portrait in an orange picture frame by Miss smile was even bigger than the one she'd drawn when she gave me this!

2014 Catch Up - Sewing

There have been several sewing project this year already.....

Dino themed cushion and drawstring bag for a 4 yr old friend of mine who loves nothing better than to play dinosaurs and go raaaaaaaagh!!!

Miss M had a bedroom makeover and we had great fun choosing fabrics for me to make into curtains and cushions...the turquoise polka dot is the main fabric and looks lovely and fresh in her room.

I have also got my sewing supplies into some sort of order, just look at those lovely threads and ribbons and two new pin cushions, one for my wrist and one for my machine....both are very handy and much used already.

A red polka dot top and belt for me, a yellow ditsy print vest top for me and gathered skirt for Miss E and a grey patterned pleat top for me.

Then I found this lovely bow print dress in the charity shop although it didn't look much like this when I bought it but with a bit of the left over polka dot fabric it's had a lovely make over.  The navy floral top was also a charity shop find but it was a long unflattering smoke like dress until I got my scissors out and chopped it into a top for me and refashioned the chopped off part into a top for Miss E...must try not to wear them at the same time...far too twee!

I really should take before as well as the after photos!

This fleecy rug was a birthday gift for my sis...Sarah's cosy cup of tea rug...more of that red polka dot fabric coming into play here for my appliqu├ęd teacups.

2014 Catch Up - Nature Art

I'm playing catch up now as I've been on a "blog break" for the first half of 2014 so here are a few highlights of our nature art antics...

Miss E with her name art

Miss M with her name art

Can you spot Mr A's A?

Phew after all that nature art it was back to the car for hot chocolate and time to wear gloves on our feet to try and warm up our little toes!

We also had a go at creating nature art in our garden...

Mr A's shooting star inspired art

Miss M's sunshine nature art

I called mine "through the round window" thinking back to my Play-school days

Miss E created a leave fire with shell marshmallows toasting

Granny Angels

I have some very special ladies to share with the Granny Angels!  I have had a ball creating these fabulous females.

They're just like super heros but a tiny bit slower and a whole lot greyer.  These gorgeous grey haired guardians are ram packed with real life experience which they're happy to share.

Although fun loving, they take their angel duties very seriously and will watch over you with unlimited love, care and attention.

Who is your favourite?
